WSG Tirol Proves to be a Worthy Opponent

Red Bull Salzburg, the dominant force in Austrian Bundesliga, extended their unbeaten streak to eight games on Sunday, May 19, 2024, with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over WSG Tirol at the Bullenfunk.
Despite a strong start from WSG Tirol, it was Salzburg who took the lead in the 25th minute through an own goal by Tirol's defender. The lead was short-lived, however, as Tirol equalized just four minutes later through a stunning free-kick from midfielder Florian Rieder.
The second half saw both teams pushing for the winning goal, and it was Salzburg who found it in the 72nd minute through a brilliant solo effort from striker Karim Adeyemi. Tirol never gave up and continued to press for an equalizer, but Salzburg's defense held firm to secure the victory.
The result keeps Salzburg top of the Bundesliga standings with 19 points from their seven games, while WSG Tirol remains in 10th place with seven points.
